CNR Introduces Administrador Eficiente de Flotas (AEF) to the Mexican Transportation and Logistics Industry
--New Service Helps Companies Increase Revenue, Decrease Operational Expenses and Improve Customer Service--
MEXICO, DF – October 12, 2009 – Corporacion Nacional del Radiodeterminacion S.A. de C.V. (CNR), an affiliate of Qualcomm Incorporated and the exclusive distributor of Qualcomm mobile information systems in Mexico, today announced the introduction of Administrador Eficiente de Flotas (AEF), a robust fleet management solution, for the Mexican market.
The AEF fleet management system is designed to meet the unique needs of businesses operating local vehicle fleets centered in metropolitan areas. AEF offers a combination of security and operational efficiency tools, providing customers with a complete solution that enables them to manage their fleet more effectively while ensuring the secure delivery of their product. Security parameters, alerts and reaction mechanisms allow customers to be proactive and reactive in assuring the security of their product. These security tools enable companies to gain visibility into the location of their entire fleet, their drivers and the safe delivery of their product, helping to improve the overall security of cargo and reduce the incidence of stolen cargo.
The AEF service provides customers with visibility into the location and status of their mobile assets via intuitive management dashboards for improved workforce and asset management, routing and scheduling. AEF’s green-yellow-red color-coded dashboards provide companies with the business intelligence they need to manage their service fleets proactively. By leveraging AEF’s Web-based graphical user interface, companies can identify the location of vehicles, monitor vehicle use, analyze and manage asset costs, and increase overall operational efficiency and productivity.
This enhanced visibility helps companies increase revenue, decrease operational expenses and improve customer service and loyalty. Companies using this new service can better manage their workload and improve their response time to customer demands because they know where their vehicles and employees are, where they have been, and where they should be.
The AEF fleet management solution can help local fleets:
- Boost revenue by increasing efficiency: Knowing the location of fleet assets at a glance, managing exceptions—such as idling, speeding, off-hours usage and geofence violations--and quickly identifying under-utilized vehicles can positively impact business decisions, resulting in significant gains in revenue.
- Reduce fuel costs: Based on data from the Instituto Mexicano del Transporte (www.imt.mx), CNR estimates that idling accounts for an average of 8% of fuel expenses in mixed fleets (10% gas, 5% diesel), making reduced idling a key objective of most fleets. AEF’s dashboard highlights vehicles with high idling rates. Additionally, AEF’s split-screen map and list views allow managers to analyze vehicle route histories and identify inefficient routes, and reduce associated fuel waste.
- Reduce overtime: By enforcing desired work hours, identifying and rerouting vehicles closest to crisis calls or delivery locations, and identifying and coaching poor performers, companies can significantly reduce overtime.
- Identify Potential Issues: Use the vehicle activity report to analyze individual driver performance and prepare a mitigation plan. Also generate reports about vehicles operating during odd-hours to document poor driving habits, and counsel drivers on desired behavior.
“Because it was developed specifically for the mobile resource management market, AEF incorporates industry-specific capabilities and features, including detailed maps and reports that provide a snapshot of an entire fleet for improved logistical planning,” noted Jose Anaya, general manager of CNR. “AEF provides a unique, Web-based dashboard display that converts data into easy-to-use business intelligence, enabling our local fleet customers to compete more effectively in today's competitive environment.”
The service enables improved employee productivity and increased operational efficiency by helping companies ensure that they are managing their assets efficiently. AEF also incorporates industry-leading security functionalities, which help assure the secure delivery of cargo to its final destination.
